Kaikoura Allstars is a performing arts project set up for Kaikoura youth with assistance from the Ministry of Youth development, the Canterbury Community Trust, Te Tai O Marokura and the Kaikoura District Council. The project has resulted in music writing and recording workshops, graffiti art and film making workshops, radio broadcasts, hip hop dance workshops, community performances and the compilation CD entitled The Kaikoura Allstars featuring 14 original tracks written by the youth of Kaikoura. The project commenced at the end of 2008 with recording workshops and the establishment of the Kaikoura Allstars website which has now been replaced by this website. In 2009 the Kaikoura Council made a space available to set up a youth recording studio and practice space. This has since been disestablished but the project continues with ongoing performances, tutoring and workshops.
