Kaikoura Board Riders Club
Kaikoura, where the mountains meet the sea, is the owner of several elite surf breaks well known around the world. Kaikoura Board Riders are a small, friendly club and most local surfers are members. Their aim is to protect the local surf spots and keep them safe and clean. Kaikoura breaks get some excellent, world class surf from most weather conditions. During storms Kaikoura receives massive, messy, fat waves that get up to 16 or 18 foot but it also gets waves as small as 1.5 to 3 foot. Kaikoura's surf and town needs to be treated with respect by all people that visit or live here, it is the beauty of New Zealand.
