Kaikoura Rugby Club Culture

Respect:
•I will respect my mates and leadership team. We do not have to be best mates, however, I will respect other opinions and ideas. Occasional conflict and candour is OK!
Commitment:
•I will be committed to the Vision, (Win ALL home games, Home Semi Final) Goals, Rules and SUCCESS of the Kaikoura Div 1 team, its current and future team at all times "On and Off the field". (One community - one team).
Attitude:
•I will choose a POSITIVE and pro-active attitude always in this TEAM.
• I will set a standard of excellence and "Play for my Mates". It's "We not Me".
• I will give the same enthusiasm, intensity and urgency always - Hard vs Easy, Offence vs Defence.
• Hungry actions! = sustained intensity and results.
Communication:
•I will always speak positively of my team mates.
• I will speak in a positive manner especially "When the pressure comes on, "Hold and PRESSURE".
• I will greet and farewell people using their name.
• I will participate in our courtesy and respect system.
Team Work:
•I will be willing to do "whatever it takes" to succeed together and achieve team goals.
• I will do "my bit well" and ask myself what can I do better? Power of 1%ers.
• I will have the courage to do the right things all the time and TRUST my mates to do the same.
• I will know and accept my role and stick to the game plan.
• I will be "ON TIME" for all my TEAM commitments.
• I agree to respect the team consequences should I lapse.
• I will mentor and help younger/new players into our team.
• I will be accountable to the team and myself for my effort.
• I will respect my supporters and opposition by promptly getting into the clubrooms and sharing a beer with them.
Fun:
•I will view this season as a journey and will create an atmosphere of FUN and happiness.
Takahanga:
•I will take the utmost pride and respect when having the privilege to play on the Takahanga domain. I will play hard for my mates, my community and all those who have played before. What are we fighting for? Force is needed!
