Technology
Technology is increasingly important in our everyday lives and it plays a significant role in the very functioning of our society. As the world changes it is important for our children to have a broad technological literacy that allows them to understand how technological developments impact on society, the economy, and the environment.
Technology encourages students to participate in purposeful activities, enabling them to integrate their knowledge and skills from many learning areas in real and practical ways. They learn to be creative and innovative in generating ideas, to take responsibility, gain teamwork and communication skills and appreciate the value of contributing to the community both socially and economically. Welcome to the websites created by our Digital Technology students. They used Notepad++ software to write xhtml-compliant mark-up code in their html files; and controlled the presentation of their textual and non-textual content in a cascading style sheet. Sometimes students have written JavaScript to control the behaviour of that content. Adobe Photoshop CS3 software has also been used to manipulate digital images.
